May Life Round Up

May has flown by, and I actually can not believe that I find myself writing about the month of May in June, let alone the 1st of June(WE ARE HALF WAY THROUGH THE YEAR PEOPLE!?)!

May has been the busiest of months, time seems to have been on fast forward x2! This month held deadline day and exhibition opening! When I haven't been frantically setting up the exhibition space at uni, I've been drawing, sketching and sketch-booking to the best of my ability. And now, on the 1st of June, I find myself at home, walking around aimlessly and hoping that something needs to be fixed, cleaned or anything for that matter. I just do not know what to do with myself?

With work handed in and being marked, we were left to work on our personal exhibition spaces, that was until saturday and sunday, where we went into uni and built the remaining pieces of the exhibition and painted the floor. The weeks have been so busy and it all built up to last thursday when the exhibition final opened.

It was really weird waiting on the other side of the door to our theatre, waiting for the exhibition to open. This was OUR exhibition! Three years after seeing the amazing work of the 3rd years, when I was in first year was intimidating and yet inspiring! And now I'm there, celebrating the years of hard work and on the very last week of university life. Time has flown and I wish I could go back to first year and do it all over again!

Uni life has been a blast, and the friends I have made I will never forget! So many memories, stories, little traditions and places. All of these things have made my time at uni unforgettable and I don't want to finish!

Now all that is left to do, is to pack up my room, spend time with friends and just enjoy my last week of university life!

Up Next ... Graduation!

Things I'm trying

Lately I've wanted to 'spread my wings' as it were. I haven't ever been that into colour, well apart for one stage during secondary school where I wore a bright green eyeshadow as a liner. However since then I have avoided colour at almost all costs when it came to makeup(expect the occasional blue/turquoise eyeliner pencil).

That is up until now! Lipsticks have always been a problem for me, of some reason my lips are super sensitive to any change in temperature and that makes wearing lipstick almost 100% a NO GO area. However I've come across a little treasure by The Body Shop that has been a game changer, The Body Shop's Wild Argan Oil Solid Oil Lip Balm has been amazing for helping my lips stay soft, you can read a more in depth personal view of the lip balm here. Whilst I'm fair new to the wonderful world of lipsticks one of my favourite lipstick formulations has been from the L'oreal Color Riche formula, this particular shade was one my mom actually tried and didn't get on with, so it's become part of my collection.
302 Bois De Rose might be a bit to autumnal for April, the colour is absolutely gorgeous and its made me realise that plum undertones are totally my thing! To begin with the lipstick was slightly drying but as soon as you get rid of the top driest layer the texture is lovely and so easy to wear without the worry of cracked lips.

Continuing with the plummy colours, the Maybelline 24 hour colour tattoo in 70 - Metallic Pomegranate is also stunning! Now you might be thinking 'that's so red it will make me look tired or worse, like I've been in a fist fight!' Well you could be right, but used lightly over the eyelid with some

Finally lets discuss the most expensive things in that picture, Chanel Vitalumère Aqua and Perfrection Lumère Velvet. Well 1) Ok the ones in the pictures are only samples 2) the actual bottle of foundation is expensive and final, 3) I need your help.

Theres been a lot of reviews on both the Chanel foundations,

The Perfections Lumere Velvet - suitable for combination to oily skin, it gives a matte yet natural finish to the complexion and is very popular on the Youtube community.

The Vitalumere Aqua - suitable for dry, normal and combination skin (consensus for combination skin is that it works well for evening out skin tone rather than helping to conceal imperfections) it gives a fresh look to the complexion and also very popular on the Youtube community.

Please Let me know if you've tried this and would you recommend it?
Hope You Have a Lovely Weekend!
